Using Blogger to get approved for Google Adsense

First thing I have to tell you about Google Adsense Affiliate program it's quite a cumbersome process, for the first timer.  From start to finish it took me one month to get approved since I messed up on the first try.

Through trial and error, this is what I have to say;

Pointers

·                     Pick/create one email address for gmail that you will be using to create your blog

·                     Create an adsense account.  http://www.google.com/adsense. Your adsense account should be using the same email address as your blog.  (This will make it much easier to incorporate google analytics and other fun stuff!, without having to log on/off if you have multiple accounts

·                     Create a twitter account with the same email address (this will be used to promote your blog)

·                     Enable monetisation in your Google Youtube account with the same email address if you plan to upload videos later on

·                     When creating your blog, avoid dynamic views (Templates allow limited customization on where your gadgets and adds appear, etc...)

·                     Follow the detailed directions sent to your inbox

How to get approved

·                     Set up a blog

·                     When creating your blog add your gadgets for Google Adsense on your page.

·                     Create posts of relative length throughout the week.  (Make your content as interesting as possible, don't enter one liners!)

·                     Wait for approval

·                     Check your email

Once approved

·                     Go to your layout page in design, and pick your Adsense gadget to edit.  In here you will be supplying your id which should have been emailed to you when you got approved for Google Adsense.

Remember Amazon also has an affiliate program which allows you to add adds from Amazon on your blog. 

·                     Create an account https://affiliate-program.amazon.com

·                     Follow directions in your email

·                     Create an Amazon widget https://widgets.amazon.com.  Copy and paste the code provided in your blog, using the HTML/JavaScript gadget

·                     You should use the HTML/JavaScript gadget to copy and paste the HTML code that is provided from Amazon.

This is by no means a detailed step by step method for getting approved by Google Adsense Affiliate Program, but if you have done some reading, this will help you through any questions or doubts you have.
